Threat Management Team Training

A 10-module online course designed to train Threat Management Team members in Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management, giving them the structured process, assessment tools, and intervention strategies needed to identify, evaluate, and manage potential threats before they escalate to violence.

Workplace Violence Instructor Certification

A certification program for safety, security, and HR professionals who want to deliver standards-based workplace violence prevention and response training within their organization or as an independent consultant, providing a complete curriculum, instructor materials, and ongoing support from CPPS subject matter experts.

WVPI Manager and Leader Training

A 60-minute training for managers and supervisors covering threat recognition, documentation, maintaining organizational standards, and properly handling reports and concerns from employees. Also available with advanced de-escalation concepts included.

Executive-Level Training

A briefing for senior leaders on the importance of workplace violence prevention, BTAM, and the resources required to establish WVPI as an organizational priority. Available as a virtual half-day or an on-site full-day session. Also available with a personal safety component covering situational awareness, travel safety, and de-escalation.

Workplace Violence Instructor Certification (WVIC)

An 8-hour certification course that trains safety, security, and HR professionals to deliver standards-based workplace violence awareness and manager-level training within their organization or as independent consultants, providing a complete curriculum, instructor materials, and ongoing CPPS support. Available for individuals and enterprise teams.

Behavioral Threat Assessment & Management
Threat Management Team Training / BTAM

A live, scenario-based training for Threat Management Teams covering BTAM principles, incident management processes, intervention strategy development, safe termination best practices, and team-based case practice. Available in half-day, one-day, and two-day formats with one or two CPPS subject matter experts. Recommended annually following completion of the online TMT course.

Threat Management Training for HR

A training for HR professionals bridging common disciplinary processes with the dynamic nature of Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management, covering BTAM principles, how to support the Threat Management Team, safe termination best practices, and scenario-based case practice. Recommended on a periodic basis.

Advanced De-Escalation Instructor Certification

An instructor certification workshop exclusively for WVIC graduates, equipping participants with advanced de-escalation instructional techniques, communication dynamics, and scenario-based training methods, with optional on-the-job coaching alongside a CPPS subject matter expert.

PERSONAL SAFETY
Personal Safety and De-Escalation Workshop

A 4-hour interactive workshop developing personal security awareness and practical de-escalation skills, covering situational awareness, the personal security mindset, effective communication techniques, and best practices for cooling heated encounters, including conflict resolution concepts applicable to the workplace.

Female Safety Training

A 3-hour training delivered by a female CPPS subject matter expert for female audiences, emphasizing the survival mindset and personal empowerment through situational awareness, travel safety, de-escalation and disengagement, and recognizing and responding to intimate partner violence and stalking.

Active Assailant Preparedness
Active Assailant Response Training

A 45–60 minute training equipping personnel with situational awareness, response options for an active assailant event, and practical guidance for interacting with law enforcement, combining classroom instruction with hands-on walkthrough exercises tailored to the organization’s environment.

Active Assailant Instructor Certification

A 4-hour certification course preparing in-house trainers to deliver active assailant preparedness training, covering classroom instruction, hands-on demonstrations, practical defensive concepts, and disarming techniques — reinforcing that individuals have actionable options during an extreme violence event.

Active Assailant Tabletop Exercise

A scenario-based tabletop exercise using a simulated active assailant crisis to evaluate an organization’s existing plans, communication, and response capabilities, using audiovisual aids and guided discussion to identify improvement areas across readiness, response, and recovery phases.

Active Assailant Response Exercise

A live exercise giving teams and employees hands-on practice responding to a simulated active assailant crisis, involving response teams, employees, and optional local emergency management partners to provide a holistic evaluation of organizational readiness and surface actionable improvement opportunities.

Active Assailant Preparedness Consultation

An onsite consultation in which CPPS subject matter experts assess site-specific layouts, existing capabilities, and available resources, partnering with leadership to refine the organization’s Active Assailant Plan and develop location-specific Standard Operating Procedures that align site-level personnel with enterprise-wide readiness requirements.

Crisis Management Team Tabletop Exercise (Active Assailant)

A scenario-driven tabletop exercise walking Crisis Management Teams through a simulated active assailant crisis, examining readiness, response, and recovery phases through guided discussion to surface gaps in plans, communication protocols, and role clarity across the organization.

Travel Risk Management
Traveler Training

Risk-based training tailored to the specific threat profile of travelers and their destinations, covering situational awareness, personal security, pre-travel planning, and emergency response across the preparation, transit, and destination phases, with curriculum adapted to both the traveler’s profile and destination risk classification.

Advanced High-Risk Travel (AHRT) Course

A 1–2 day training preparing travelers for high-threat environments through destination-specific instruction on situational awareness, surveillance detection and response, hostage survival, wrongful detention, crisis response, and travel risk planning, tailored to the traveler’s profile and destination risk classification.

Crisis Management Exercise (Travel Risk)

A simulation-based exercise preparing an organization’s Crisis Management Team to respond to travel-related crises such as hostage situations or wrongful detentions, replicating the volatile and complex dynamics of high-stress international incidents to develop and test response capabilities in a controlled environment.
